A Gift of Faerie Wishes

Twenty-three years ago an innkeeper discovered a fae infant inside a wicker basket. The incident went largely unnoticed, and no one predicted Emilee Everett would become one of the most powerful faeries in the Midwest.

Well, that’s not quite true: the faerie godmother who left Emilee on the doorstep of Mooncrest Chapel knew, but she quietly returned to the Faerie realm. So Emilee grew up in an orphanage, never quite fitting in, never being adopted, and never understanding why she could grant more wishes than a hundred genies in a hundred bottles—without even breaking a sweat.

That’s a lot of power in one faerie’s hands, and why she’s in trouble with the law. Since Emilee likes granting heartfelt wishes, she’s been granting more wishes than her stingy allotment permits. Her court hearing is scheduled for the day after Christmas, where she expects the commissioners to strip away her magic.

Unless her court-appointed fae barrister, Langley Kane, is up to the challenge. But when Emilee hears Langley’s defense strategy, she fires the dashing attorney on the spot.

Despite his Clark Kent good looks, Langley could never convince Emilee that she is the Christmas Faerie of Riddle Hill.

Or could he?
